The Managing Shipments section of the platform is designed to streamline the entire traceability process. Normally, before a shipment can take place, several additional entities need to be created, such as purchase orders, making the workflow complex and dependent on external ERP systems.

With our approach, this process is simplified. Thanks to the easy integration with Orbify, you don’t need to model multiple entities or sync different data structures. Instead, everything is consolidated into a single shipment record.

What is a shipment in the platform?

A shipment in our platform represents the full package of information related to the movement of goods, whether importing, exporting, or domestic. It combines:

  • the products or commodities being traded,

  • the role of the user (trader or operator),

  • all compliance data needed for traceability.

This means you can manage and monitor the entire process without juggling multiple tools or data models.

Setting up a shipment

With the Shipment Creator, the process is straightforward:

  1. Choose your role, trader or operator.

  2. Select the commodity you are dealing with.

  3. Add shipment details such as products, origin, and compliance data.

The platform then generates a clear, unified shipment record.

From shipment to DDS

One of the biggest advantages is that you can create a DDS (Due Diligence Statement) directly from the shipment record. The DDS Creator makes this process smooth and integrated, ensuring that all relevant compliance information is included automatically.

Submission confirmation & data visibility

When submitting a DDS, especially one that includes plots (geometries), you can choose whether your geolocation data should be visible when referenced in another DDS. This submission confirmation feature ensures that you maintain control over sensitive data while still meeting compliance requirements.

Why this matters

By centralizing all shipment-related data into a single workflow, the platform helps you:

  • Save time by skipping unnecessary ERP integrations,

  • Simplify compliance with built-in DDS creation,

  • Ensure transparency across all trade and movement of goods,

  • Maintain flexibility over how your geolocation data is shared.

Final thoughts

Managing Shipments is more than just a logistics feature, it’s the backbone of traceability within the platform. By simplifying the process, it empowers traders and operators to stay compliant, transparent, and efficient, all while reducing integration complexity.
